C.A.P. WILL ROCK YOU!

Nadia to other councilors: DESCRIBE YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE AT CAP IN FIVE WORDS.
Chuting: Really, really, really *pauses* Really awesome. YEAH!

CAP IS GOD AWESOME.

K I know this post is coming way too late, but still.
CAUTION: SUPER LONG POST AHEAD.

OMG, Kat, how could you have not suffered that 'Post CAP Depression' shebang? I'm missing it as much as Michael Corbidge going "Mamamiya!"

HAHA, this moment so eerily reminds me of that time, not too long ago, when Mrs Lim went something like CAPpers being tired at first and not very enthusiastic (i wasn't really listening that day; it was too cold) then "perpetually having new blog posts coming up everywhere" ! All too familiar *shakes head*

I MISS CAP LIKE MOTHA.
AND DIDGERIDOO! I MISS YOU GUYS TOO T___T
it's been what, two days?

DIDGERIDOO n.
deed - dri - do
The most fantastic OG in the entire world!

Too long, too long.
I long to sleep on that rock-hard, uncomfortable dusty bed again T____T
AND HAHA THE CRAWSHAW SONG. Dang, Crawshaw, after he got his popularity with all the girls after the second day, he completely forgets about Didgeridoo!
You evil 1/2-a-day councilor!

But really, the food was great by camp standards.
Thus I forgive you =D I'm much too nice sometimes

DAY ONE
It was raining. Like crazy! My dad dropped me off at the bus stop OUTSIDE NUS. WRONG MOVE! Was supposed to meet Jac there, but then I wasn't thinking; since it was raining, we should just meet at Kent Ridge Hall whaaaat! Desperately, I called Jac, and her parents were kind to offer me a ride in (YAY).

Checked our Orientation Groups (two for me =D) and Performance Groups (PERCUSSIONS! LOVELOVE) then went to get room keys.

Now the rooms, are on a whole different level when I stepped in for the first time. The musty smell of books left kept and unread for too long painfully resonated off the walls and drove into my brain; I WAS DIZZY WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR. According to Kat, who saw photos of my room, it was heaps better than the Eusoff Hall she got last year, but still. I was jumping around, afraid of bedbugs and the immensly looming, lurking presense of the ever intimidating BOOGIE MAN under the bed. SHOCKGASPHORROR. AND ON THE BED WAS !

A green towel.
(oh, if only I had a picture of the very speechless moment)

@#$%^&*
There must be something awfully wrong here,
I thought. They wanted us to bathe?? Yes anyway, that turned out to be our blanket for the next 4 nights! (Unknowingly, I had tried to wipe a dusty corner of the bed with it on the first night. Subsequetly, had jammed it down that very dusty corner. How very stupid)

We went down to the Dining Hall for the supopsedly Tea, and there was this insane angmoh guy and a very upright, lady (with layers of power on her face) telling us to form two queues.

My first impression of CAP food:
"Er. What is this?"

But it got a lot better =)

Angmoh guy turned out to be our "temorary councilor" (that's what he called himself) and didn't even bother telling us his name. He was later revealed to be David Crawshaw, the-food-god (and the "giggle-i-was-stalking-that-cute-angmoh-boy-SQUEE!!" to many girls) councilor. But to OG2 (us) he couldn't remember any of us, except Cleo. Good, good, remember the pretty, Scarlet-Johansson-lookalike but forget the normal ones. Snort.

Ignoring the desperate instructions of the then-not very significant councilors, I sat with Sumi at Jacquelyn's OG4 table. They seemed quite hyper, enthusiastic. But as the sideliner, it's kinda obvious that group was pretty awkward in introductories, thus I dreaded having to sit with my group even more. (Pity) Well, we had ice breaker games next. Crawshaw, who still didn't give us his name, gathered us, and constantly claimed his work was artistic as he cut the miserable-looking red paper down to size. Stripping it of many triangle bits, he proudly called his new artwork, "A STAR."

But because he was trying so hard, we shall all love Crawshaw and forgive him xD
MWAHAHAH, I WAS DOING A GOOGLE ON CRAWSHAW SO THAT I COULD FIND SOME OF HIS ADORING FANS, BUT LOOK AT WHAT I GOT INSTEAD:

Si Cute

We had ice breaker games, and the funny "Do You Like Your Neighbour?" Game. Very funny, and our circle got smaller and smaller. Though that game, I learnt that:
Only Crystal and I wore braces. YUP =) Such productive games we played. Sigh, you guys should all try and sign up for CAP! BEFORE YOU REGRET IT! IM TELLING YOU!!

Went for some plenary/forum thingy, I forgot which came first. My mind always crawls into its grave during the course of these five days whenever the four dreaded words come into conversation: "plenary" "forum" "workshop" or "lecture" (ARRGHGHRGRHHHH MY BRAIN IS MELTING). Yes so. We shall skip that.

Except maybe some random facts of the happenings during ALL the plenaries/workshops/lectures/forums I have been to, and lucky ehough to remember:
1) Jill Dawson is amazing. *inspiration*
2) But Michael Corbidge beats any facilitator ANY TIME. Pity he can't remember my name xD
3) Jeffrey Lim thinks I'm good at writing! *sings to high heaven*
4) Suchen Christine Lim... hm.. I love her lesbian stories? I think they're funnnaye =D
5) The forum we had with the Poet, his two Publishers and the two Consumers. LOL. The Poet who suffers from a very intense form of stage fright! He pauses between every word! For five minutes on average! Oooh, but don't get me wrong, I still think he's good ^^
6) That moment, during the first forum, when Rohan, the ACS(I) kid stood up and declared his love for blog-stalking Gregory(HCI)! HAHAHA, GREG!
7) Jiashun, my *real* OGL is annoyingly alert. You should never never never never never never (never never never never) sit next to him on the last plenary you are ever going to have! You lean on your table, and then, WHAM, he whacks you on the arm, uses his big all commando NCC voice and goes "OI. DON'T SLEEP." Yesyes, the rude thing, but still, I complain about Jiashun all the time =D He is easy to bullayeeee! Except maybe during plenaries ._.
8) Oh ya, he and that Mamidee Akshayyyy (OGL for Jac's group) were being Police People and kept sending discreet little warnings to discreet little people who were trying to sleep. Still if you sat next to him, you REALLY can't ignore him, so pfft. I had to pretend to tie my hair (over and over again) so that I could get some shuteye xDDD

Kay. Anyway after the first Plenary, we all went back for lunch! Crawshaw the Food God rushed back first, so yah. We toddled back to the Dining Hall with the help of the Vice Head, Daveen. It was then that Jiashun graced us with his presense!

Jiashun: SO. Hello people. Did Crawshaw bully you?
Us: Yeeeeessssssssssssssss.
Crawshaw: Whot?!

LOL ER. I was trying to get his accent in, thus the "whot" xD

Kay after that. BORING BORING BORING.
Let's skip straight to PERCUSSION!

I LOVE PERCUSSION! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE.

EEWEI AND ELISA!
Eewei plays the smaller, wooden Malay Drum with me.
Elisa plays the funny siler, metal thingy. But it's another Malay Drum ^^

And from these, I learnt that I LOVE PERCUSSION omgomg. Even though I sucked at the actual drums when Aidan tried to teach Val and I, these hand drums are the bombz. We rocked our performance night, needless to say. Percussion is always the highlight. HEH HEH HEH.

Abrupt end to story, because I never finished this post, until I saw stumbled upon it in my drafts a good 5 years later (it's 2013 now).
How my command of the English language has deteriorated since then :P

Completed post or not, CAP was indeed an amazing experience, and I'd encourage everyone (who is eligible and was invited by the annual CAP committee) to participate :)

I think my CAP withdrawal symptoms have never fully gone away.
